The Beautification COV will be initiating projects to improve and uplift our land and structures to reflect the grace and nobility of Guru Ram Das.
This Spring we have chosen to re-vitalize the Ranch’s Lower Orchard. We are asking the Sadh Sangat to help fund 15 new fruit trees to replace dead or dying trees and make this beautiful orchard whole again.

Inside the ashram in Española, one woman packed 120 bags last week with nutritious snacks for students home from school.
It’s not something Guru Simran Kaur Khalsa is doing for the first time to address food insecurity issues.
Food 4 Kids NM volunteers have been making these bags for the last 12 years, which are distributed by schools in northern Santa Fe and Rio Arriba counties to some of the most needy students.
"My name is Munsimar Kaur and I am 10 years old. I have been listening to SikhNet audio stories for about 8 years as my parents started to play them for me when I was much younger. It’s funny how you do something – like reading, watching the TV or speaking to people, and never know the impact it is having on you. This is how I feel about SikhNet Stories.....
We welcome Atma Chanan Kaur as a new member of our community. She was born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina and moved to the United States when she was 18 yrs. old and obtained a Ph.D in Sociology, Migration and Women’s Studies. Service, simplicity and community brought her to the ashram, after having lived in many places around the world. She teaches Kundalini Yoga and Meditation and it's been a dream of hers to share in a community with like-minded, heart-centered, spiritual people coming together for daily practice and growing in the values and virtues of the Soul.
On Sunday August 25th we'll be holding our first HGRD Blood Drive.

After 26 years in Espanola, and 18 years at Guru Ram Das Puri, I am being invited to a new place, new experience, new adventures, infusion of Khalsa into a new town. Although I have not participated actively in community life for some time, there have been many connections and shared moments, spanning decades and continents and generations.

Every Thursday during the school year, beginning at 11:30 a.m., volunteers gather at the Hacienda de Guru Ram Das in Sombrillo to prepare 535 bags of food for children attending various Española School District sites, as well as surrounding pueblo day schools, that may not otherwise eat during the weekends, said Guru Simran Kaur Khalsa, head of Food 4 Kids New Mexico.
In the last article, reading a slot in the Akhand Path was likened to planting a seed of inexhaustible wealth each time we sign up. The wealth of the Naam is inexhaustible and our efforts towards maintaining our Akhand Path are like the seeds of that wealth which we keep planting. The harvest of course belongs to the whole Sangat, but the blessing of our individual experience, especially as we’re reading, could be considered the sprouting point of that wealth by the Guru’s grace. This month I wished to share some of my experiences while reading my monthly 2 A.M. slot and other “easier” slots.
