Sapat SaringThe story of Guru Gobind Singh begins high in the sacred mountains of the Himalayas, where the air is cold and clear. There you will find a secluded lake known as Sapat Saring. This is a holy place where saints have meditated for millennia, and where great spiritual disciplines have been accomplished by yogis and rishis. Here the exalted Rishi Dushtdaman sat in deep meditation, passing the ages in love of his Lord.
The command to “Love thy neighbor” is among the oldest spiritual instructions given to humankind. Yet it remains one of the most challenging to live. Recently, someone asked me a question that goes straight to the heart of this challenge:
Rest-Relax-Regenerate are the keynote themes for the month of December. This year of 2025, a number 9 year on the planet, has been an extraordinary time of intensity and instability. A balance needs to be struck at this moment, thereby giving us the strength and reserve to enter the New Year with a skip in our step and a sparkle in our eye.
The month of November 2025 is a time for focus, perseverance, and a determined sense of finality in the cutting of the cord connected to anything that drags you down or holds you back. There’s a line in the sand here, and you want to be on the right side of it. Codependency will crash, so don’t get hypnotized into staring at the flames of that which was never going to work out anyway, just walk away.
Happiness is the purpose of life
It’s the felt experience of being truly alive: glad to breathe, to know oneself, to stand under God’s protection and love. This definition works for me—and for anyone inclined toward it.
