Yogi Bhajan: Finger Food Gratitude

Sat Nam Dear Family,

We talk of gratitude, but we just touch the edge. Until you’re constantly in the pursuit of being totally devoted, totally loyal, totally committed, totally obedient, totally trusting, totally subservient, totally loving of something or someone, true gratitude is lost.

The experience of gratitude is Infinite, as is, naturally, the pursuit of more and more gratitude. They go hand and hand as the Infinite example of God. They represent love and duty, the way of a Sikh. As a student builds trust in his teacher more and more, and displays the sincerity in nurturing that trust through actions in following a true teacher, the more gratitude is experienced.

This is when it becomes noticed. Your needs are being taken care of in return for your sincere service and devotion. You’re been bestowed from above a ‘carefree’ life. A life under God’s control, protection, guidance, elevation, and prosperity. The more grateful you are for this blessing, the deeper the blessing goes. Remember, its Infinite, so the fun never stops. So, who wouldn’t be more and more grateful? It should be a no-brainer.

Here’s the deal. You’re never done. If you think you’re done, you are. But you don’t want to done! This way you keep growing and becoming closer to God. . Here’s the secret: Don’t think. Remember, remember that everything you need to proceed effortlessly and endlessly into the continued pursuit of being more and more grateful for the love of God will be provided. That’s the way of your life.

Now, that’s it right there. All this leads to the experience of being a beloved of God. Gratitude leads to this sweet state. What more do you want? What more is there? Only one thing.

You guessed it, merger. Merger with God is where God trusts, loves, truly loves you so much the He allows you to do as you will. He trust so much that whatever form you take will be within his protocol. He trusts you so much because you have withstood His love. Yes, His love becomes hard to take because it requires more and more sacrifice and surrender.

It all begins with being grateful. There are only two things that are necessary to master life: Gratitude and Patience. The nourishment of being grateful for everything, and the patience to understand why.

Whatever you do, nourish your gratitude for everything. It’s not easy, but, it’s powerful. And, I hate to say this, but, when things are the hardest, down and darkest, remaining grateful is when the biggest steps are made. The way beyond this uneasiness, this pain, is through faith.

It turns out that faith is the natural offshoot of gratitude. At its peak, gratitude takes faith. With faith, limits are bypassed. A new existence awaits. Confidence is born built of faith in God. All glory is His. The student becomes more and more grateful for the opportunity given and he can’t be grateful enough. Just to be blessed to serve God’s true Will is the blessing of blessings. Then, more and more gratitude becomes the offshoot of faith. The circle of Infinity is complete.

Humility becomes another byproduct of gratitude and faith. When the student recognizes that they’ve been blessed, then the Who who blessed them becomes the object of their gratitude. Why not? That’s the way it is, and that’s the way it’s always been, and that’s the way it will be.

Gratitude produces faith, then, faith produces gratitude, and gratitude and faith produces humility. That makes it easy, just practice being more and more grateful for everything. That’s all you need to master. As the popular America broadcaster Paul Harvey would say, ‘and, now, you know the rest of the story. Good day.’ This is way. all you need is gratitude, Infinite gratitude. Stay tuned,

In the Humility of Service and Gratitude,
