Flexibility Provides Great Opportunities

By Hari Jiwan Singh Khalsa

Post WW2, the TV show “Leave it to Beaver” did more to influence how the perfect American family is supposed to live. For good or otherwise, the show’s impact was big. Families living under this umbrella of hope, this veil of reality, this shield of protection, still widely exist.

Religions, lifestyles, philosophies, you name it, profess to be the best guide in living a life like “Leave it to Beaver.” TV has made this dream a reality, at least so in our perception. Marketing and/or projection can do that.

Where does our perception come from? Is this our reality? Can we change it?

Perception comes from where our mind is dragged. Sometimes it relaxes in habits. Sometimes in needs, Sometimes in a lack of focus, sometimes in opinions. Sometimes comes into our mind channeling our consciousness away from God’s Name. It happens. God’s true perception is found in the unadulterated perception of Infinity, of Wahe Guru. This takes real courage to experience because it means the the student must put himself aside - and mean it, show it! At this level there is no expectation of  the perception  of fooling God again, as if we ever could. Flexibility is the perquisite for a true projection. You must get to the point that you realize that your opinions don’t really matter, except it, and live that truth. When the only true opinion to follow is Guru Ram Das’ opinion, your on your way to sainthood.

s our perception, our reality? The quick answer is yes. How it’s influenced and how it’s generated makes the difference. Habits, tendencies, bias, desires, needs, wants, are the generator motor which keeps the perception on the move, or at rest.

All perception is based on our individual belief. Then how can we ever function a a community, a environment, a coalition, a student body, a corporation, a government, you name it? When a group of people have an alliance with the same perception, an identity, a clarity, a understanding, of how things are to govern and work regularly is under that structure. Religion, philosophies, lifestyles, cultures develop. They go through the above progression until becoming  unified. confederation. Contemporaries come together in order to move ahead - countries are formed, movements, established. All survivors have their own particular communication skills As communication and travel have become commonplace, different communities and cultures are available to most worldwide, indulging in other cultures can be fun. Let’s see, why not start with Thai food?

Although it seems like we live an a swarm of humanity abounding all around us in no understanding of reality, in fact, it’s all a matter of our perception of reality. Unless it’s harmful to us, or others, let it be. Everyone has the blessing of living free and selected to live their truth. LET IT BE!

We’re traveling through a time warp into a greater understanding of cooperation, and how it’s projected. This process will take us to the core of the issue: flexibility; why and how? It’s not just hearing what others say about their perceptions, it’s being flexibility enough to change when necessary when it’s best for you because your goal is to represent, serve, and love Guru Ram Das, flexibility is at is strongest. Following Guru ji’s command is, for a Sikh, the highest of all commands. So long as only Guru ji’s teachings guarantees a true path. Sure there are others, quite a few. This much I know, a Sikh perception of reality based on the true teachings leads to unification with the Guru.- prayers are answered, wants fulfilled, karma payed-off in chunks, dreams fulfilled, tolerance expanded, understanding deepened, love everywhere.

Flexibility is the antidote. Without flexibility nothing ever changes. Life remains ‘As Is.’ This is acceptable to most, but for those blessed few are looking for a larger prize, true compassion is necessary. Not a show display of compassion, but a heartfelt one experienced through empathy. The experience of empathic compassion is what God notices first. It’s his primary teaching through Sikhism; its His primary teachings in all great religions and lifestyles. Make it your standard. Don’t judge it, just do it. It’s where life is re-found and renewed. it’s where happiness abides.

All this begins with controlling your mind: prayer, mantra, service, meditation, you name it. Without control of your mind, your a slave, a slave to your projection. Your mind creates your projection. So, channel your mind properly and Totality awaits. A place devoid of any insecurity, a place of Infinite Love. Don’t miss the train, it leaves at 3:00 am sharply, daily. Start with Sadhana. Show your commitment to being more flexibility. Let Guru know that you’re here to stay and that His commands are followed. Be bowled, be courageous, be profound. Be Flexible.
