Community Growth Fund

NEW! Now you can sign up for recurring or one-time credit card donations through Caring Habits, Inc. (CHI). This method will replace the EFT forms that we used previously. However, you can continue to make your Community Growth Fund (CGF) donations through PayPal, if that's your preference. Signing up for one of these methods will make your contributing easy and consistent without the worry. An added benefit for credit card payments is your CGF contribution can help you earn points for airline tickets, etc.

You can also make a tax-deductible contribution by mailing or bringing a check made payable to Sikh Dharma of New Mexico to the following address: 1A Ram Das Guru Place, Espanola, New Mexico 87532. If you wish to set up a regular contribution, contact the Managing Secretary at GuruMeherK@sikhdharma.org or call (505) 367-1315.

The recommended monthly donations for ashram members are as follows:

Hacienda de Guru Ram Das is funded through the contributions of its residents, sangat members, and visitors to the community. “As the Mother Ashram, it is our responsibility to build the community with our own merit. We built it and we must carry it.”
–Yogi Bhajan Contributions to the Community Growth Fund (CGF) cover the maintenance of the land and services of Hacienda de Guru Ram Das, including buildings, equipment, supplies, utilities, insurance, and salaries of employees, including our Managing Secretary and grounds personnel. The budget for the Community Growth Fund is set each year, usually in December of January. The budget and all expenditures are managed by the Administrative Council through the Finance Committee. A Community Growth Fund Report can be requested any time by contacting the Managing Secretary.

Sangat members of Hacienda de Guru Ram Das are requested to contribute $100 per month to the Community Growth Fund. Our tax-deductible investment today ensures that our children will inherit a strong and vibrant community tomorrow.

Dr. Guruchander Singh has served for many years on the Finance Committee and received Yogi Bhajan’s guidance and direction to ensure the sovereignty and prosperity of Hacienda de Guru Ram Das now and into the future. He has shared that Yogi Bhajan emphasized that for those souls who have been guided here, it is our duty and honor to serve. There were times that he went to Yogi Bhajan to ask if we could reduce the amount, “The prosperity of self, and the future of the Dharma – tied in with the entire humanity – looks to you as the Mother Center.
–Yogi Bhajanand each time he was given the answer, “One hundred dollars is the minimum standard for each adult.” Understanding that this is a goal for some, we ask that everyone in the community make a commitment to contribute regularly so that as individuals and as a community we will continue to grow our prosperity and share our wealth with the world.
